Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs acceptable behavior and usage of the From Equations to Capital platform, including the books, Decision Lab, Academy, companion notebooks, and all related services. This AUP is supplemental to our Terms of Service.

2. Educational Nature of the Platform

Important: All models, valuations, calculations, and analytical outputs produced by the Decision Lab and companion notebooks are for educational and research purposes only. They require independent professional validation before use in any production, investment, or regulatory decision-making context.

3. Permitted Uses

You may use the Services for:

  • Personal learning and professional development.
  • Academic research and coursework (with proper citation).
  • Internal corporate training and education programs (institutional license required).
  • Running Decision Lab analyses for educational exploration.
  • Building on concepts and techniques learned through the Platform in your professional work.
  • Using companion notebooks for computational exercises and self-study.

4. Prohibited Uses

You may not:

  • Redistribute Content: Share, redistribute, publish, or sublicense any book content, Decision Lab outputs, or companion notebooks without explicit written permission.
  • Automated Access: Use bots, scrapers, crawlers, or automated tools to systematically access, download, or extract content from the Platform.
  • Credential Sharing: Share login credentials, session tokens, or API keys with unauthorized individuals.
  • Circumvent Access Controls: Attempt to bypass entitlement checks, DRM, or access restrictions.
  • Misrepresent Outputs: Present Decision Lab outputs as audited financial analysis, investment advice, or regulatory filings without independent professional review.
  • Competitive Use: Use Platform content to develop or enhance a competing product or service.
  • Security Attacks: Probe, scan, test, or exploit vulnerabilities in the Platform's security or API infrastructure.
  • Excessive Load: Generate excessive API requests or computational load that degrades service for other users.
  • Illegal Activity: Use the Services for any purpose that violates applicable laws, regulations, or sanctions.

5. API and Integration Usage

If you have API access:

  • Respect rate limits (documented in API responses and headers).
  • Do not store or cache content beyond the session duration unless your license permits offline access.
  • Use API keys responsibly and rotate them if compromised.
  • Do not share API access outside your licensed organization.

6. Academic Citation

If referencing Platform content in academic work, please cite as:

7. Reporting Violations

If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to compliance@equationstocapital.com. Reports will be handled confidentially.

8. Enforcement

Violations of this AUP may result in:

  • Warning notification.
  • Temporary suspension of access.
  • Permanent account termination.
  • Legal action for material violations, including intellectual property infringement.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action at our sole discretion.

9. Changes

We may update this AUP at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
